Festival Opera: Il Barbiere di Siviglia

Sat August 19 at 6:30pm

Charles H. Morris Center, 10 E Broad Street

Tickets: $62
Sung in Italian with English translations above the stage

The Famous Barber is scheming and dealing in this operatic masterpiece as Rosina and Almaviva need the Figaro’s expertise to be together, despite Bartolo’s scheme to keep her for himself. SVF reunites some of its favorite cast members of past productions for a delightful journey into Beaumarchais first comedic installation of the Barber Trilogy, sprinkled with a bit of romance. Written 74 years after Mozart’s telling of part two, this “Prequel” to The Marriage of Figaro goes back in time to where it all began. An intimate production with virtual sets and a chamber ensemble suited to the intimacy of the historic Morris Center.
