The Historic Savannah Foundation hosted its first Songs and Stories on the Square event Sunday in partnership with the Savannah VOICE Festival.
At the event, people could hear historical lectures followed by a performance of songs that go with the theme of those lectures.
President of the Historic Savannah Foundation, Sue Adler, said she was glad to begin the event in a meaningful location.
